The Timashev Technology Towers will bring business to Ohio State

The Timashev Technology Towers will bring business to Ohio State

Ohio State broke ground on the Timashev Technology Tower on Tuesday, marking a new phase for students' education and investment opportunities for the university. The eight-story and 103,000-square-foot building will bring students, research, startups, large companies and a center for software innovation all together, said University President Ravi Bellamkonda.

"The building being set in the heart of campus is intentional," Bellamkonda said. He explained that placing the tower at the center of university life will allow students from every discipline to encounter the work happening inside, rather than treating technology as a separate corner of campus.

The project is designed to strengthen ties between the university and the business community. Leaders say the tower will give startups access to student talent and faculty research, while established companies gain a foothold near emerging ideas. Students, in turn, will find internships, mentorship and hands-on experience with real products and teams.

Construction is expected to continue over the next several years, with the university planning to share updates as the building takes shape. Officials described the groundbreaking as the start of a long-term effort to make Ohio State a hub for software and technology development in the region.
